Is God surprised?

I am so glad that God is not in Heaven freaking out about the recent developments that are making us change almost every detail to our trip.

If you read my last post you would have seen that we now need to go to Thailand earlier then we had planned. Not earlier then God had planned, just not when we did. That means quite a bit of work for us to change all of our flights to and from the states as well with in Thailand. This comes at some cost, not only with money but time and energy. I am so blessed that God is the one orchestrating this all and we do not need to be anxious. We don’t need to worry about the cost, God has that covered. We don’t need to worry about language barrier because God speaks Thai.

I know this may seem stilly to be so “casual” or “easy going” about it, but with time our Faith has grown, and I am so so glad! I would be having a fit right now will all of these details if I did not rest in Him!

So here are some of the details. Gregg and I are changing our flights to leave the 3rd of February. We had planned on leaving the 7th, but with the new time line, this was what we had peace about. This way even if I am “early” again we will be there and we can get started! Another blessing with the details is that we are using air miles to get to Thailand and back so we can move those flights as needed for free! The hotel and especially the flight in Thailand on he other hand are costing us. The good thing is that we seem to be able to make all of the changes on line! That is definitely the way to go since there is such a language barrier.

Over and above what I would have ever asked for are friends to live with while we get accustomed to the area. So what does God do, he give us friends, Josh and his wife, who live in Chiang Mai to stay with! We now have friends to show us around and help us get acquainted with our home for the next month or so. We are going to be staying with them for as long as God works it out and leads. We will also be looking into Condo’s as an option. But thankfully we are blessed to not have to do that now. This is just one more way that we are seeing God’s hand on this whole trip. We are so blessed to have friends who are there and have those who have been there and are willing to help us out so much.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding. But in all your ways acknowledge Him and he will direct your paths.

How scary life would be if God were ever taken by surprise… I love that He is all knowing and all powerful and that His thoughts and ways are way above our comprehension. But we get to know that they are good!
